    To install any technical indicator or script into the MetaTrader 5 platform on your computer, you need to properly understand the data directory tree: • File .ex5: The executable file has been compiled from the MQL5 source code, which can be run directly on MT5 without revealing the internal algorithm. • File .mq5: Raw source code file containing MQL5 programming commands, which needs to be compiled via MetaEditor to create an .ex5 file. - Indicators folder: MQL5/Indicators (where tools displayed on the graph are stored). - Robot directory: MQL5/Experts (where trading automation or semi-automation tools are stored). - Script folder: MQL5/Scripts (where commands that execute immediate tasks are stored once).

    4-step process to copy files and authorize operations on MT5 PC

    Perform the following operations exactly on the MT5 computer software: • Step 1: Open MetaTrader 5 -> On the top menu bar, select File -> Select Open Data Folder. • Step 2: A Windows Explorer window appears -> Access the MQL5 folder -> Continue to open the Indicators folder -> Paste the .ex5 file you downloaded here. • Step 3: Return to the MT5 interface -> At the Navigator window (Navigate left, shortcut Ctrl+N) -> Right click on Indicators -> Select Refresh. The new indicator will appear in the list. • Step 4: Drag and drop the indicator onto the chart -> In the Common tab, check "Allow algorithmic trading" and the Dependencies tab if the tool requires WebRequest permission.

    For smart Indicators that need to synchronize online data from AlphaOnChart's analysis server: • WebRequest configuration: Go to Tools -> Options -> Expert Advisors Tab -> Check "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" -> Double click on the plus sign and add AlphaOnChart's server URL (https://alphaonchart.app). • Save chart Template: After setting the candle color, resistance lines and indicators to your liking -> Right click on the graph screen -> Select Templates -> Save Template -> Give it a name (for example: AlphaOnChart_Pro.tpl). From next time, with any currency pair, you just need to reload this Template in 1 second.
